River Link Ferry System

RiverLink Ferry, operated by HMS Ferries, bridges the gap between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Camden, New Jersey. Although the cities are in different states, they are only separated by the Delaware River. The RiverLink Ferry provides convenient travel between the two.

Challenges

With the busy concert season approaching, HMS Ferries was looking to develop a ticketing solution for RiverLink Ferry that would help it manage large crowds and increase efficiency during hours of high customer volume. In the past, RiverLink Ferry customers had to pay for tickets right at the gate. The ferry system wanted a more modern approach to ticketing to cut down on wait times and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Solutions

RiverLink Ferry came to Americaneagle.com for an all-in-one solution that encompassed all aspects of ticketing. Using myCloudFare, the team developed iOS and Android mobile apps along with a self-service customer portal. Together, this enables customers to purchase 2D barcode tickets to purchase, print or display on their devices whether they are at home or on the go.

myCloudFare also powers a separate app for ticket inspectors and the account-based central system to which all elements of the system are connected. Customers can also purchase tickets at the ticket booths equipped with Star Micronics printers and cash registers, and Elo I-Series tablet-based retail point of sale terminals.

Since launching the ticketing system, RiverLink Ferry System has seen increases in ease of use and customer satisfaction. The ferry system now has a stable, user-friendly solution that will grow along with them.
